How To Host An Italian Themed Women’s Ministry Event (with free printables)

Take the guesswork out of planning your Christian women’s event with this Italian themed women’s ministry event guide. Complete with a menu, decorating ideas, printable conversations starters, church bulletin image, sign up sheet, and scripture focuses.

I recently hosted ladies from my church for an Italian themed ministry event. I have the pleasure of serving alongside wise and Godly women and between the three of us, we were able to serve the women of our church with an intimate God-centered event.

Hosting an event for your women’s ministry doesn’t have to be intimidating. When you have a willingness to show hospitality to others, and are walking in obedience to Christ, hosting events is a blessing despite all of the work that goes on behind the scenes.

A Quick Reminder For Ministry Events

The ultimate goal for any women’s ministry event should be to point the guests to Christ.

It is not to outdo the decorations from the year before, show up the big church in town, or have a record number in attendance. It is not for Instagram worthy photos or Pinterest perfect crafts.

At its heart, a women’s ministry is about pouring into the lives of women through the Word, creating a special time for relationships to deepen and hope renewed.

Biblical Themes For An Italian Themed Event For Women

Building any ministry event theme should be a foundation in the Word. Here are some options to get your wheels turning:

  • God is love (1 John 4, Deut. 7:9)
  • Love others (1 John 4, 2 Cor. 8)
  • All Roads May Lead To Rome But There’s Only One Way To Jesus (Matthew 7)
  • Structurally Founded In Christ (Matthew 7)

Decorating Ideas For An Italian Themed Christian Women’s Event

Italian culture and design lends itself to endless opportunities when decorating for an Italian themed party.

At the event in my home, we were hosting a smaller group of ladies which allowed for a more formal table setting.

I chose classic blue and white transfer ware dishes (common in Italian homes), white table linens, and rustic grapevine chargers.

I adorned the tables with lots of candles, of varying sizes, and fresh basil stems from my garden. They looked beautiful and added a touch of natural fragrance.

It was a simple but romantic table setting.

Scripture References and Conversation Starters For A Christian Women’s Night

This post would not be complete without ways to incorporate Scripture into your event.

As I was preparing and studying scriptures, I came across this post by Julia Bettencourt. It served as the inspiration for our table talk at the dinner event.

I began with Julia’s suggested scriptures and prompts to design printable cards to place around our tables.

I adapted the questions and scriptures to encourage conversation and provoke thoughts.

You can download the prepared PDF’s by clicking the button below.

I chose to laminate mine since they would be around food. This also allows them to be reused later.
